MTC Motorsport BMW M135i Front Mount Intercooler, Decat Pipe and Charge Pipe kit for N55 Engines
The intercooler, decat and charge pipe will fit plug and play with the following vehicles with N55 engine:
BMW M135i July 2013 onwards
BMW M235i July 2013 onwards
BMW M2 all models
BMW 335i July 2013 onwards
BMW 435i July 2013 onwards
We have engineered these intercoolers using a bar and plate core matched to our flowed cast end tanks. This is the most efficient way to keep the intake temperatures low.
We have tested our intercoolers on a few vehicles and found they have absolutely fantastic results. The IAT compared to the standard intercooler are reduced massively which means you get consistent increased performance.
The standard intercooler and the MTC intercooler both had intercooler intake temperatures of between 135-140 degrees through 5 runs on the road.
At the other side of the intercooler into the engine the standard intercooler temps were between 75-80 degrees whereas the MTC intercooler temperatures were in the high 20’s over all 5 runs.
The MTC intercooler features a massive 5″ competition core with flowed cast end tanks and 4 rows extra at the front to increase the surface area
We have added a fin to the inside of the casting on the intake side to direct some of the airflow up through the top 4 extra cores
This intercooler weighs 11.5kg and provides near 100% more volume and 90% more surface area than the standard intercooler
Dimensions are 520mm X 215mm X 145mm which is a huge increase on the standard intercooler. For comparison, these dimensions are the exact same as the Wagner dimensions.
The intercooler is a direct fit and there are some great videos on YouTube to follow. However, professional installation is recommended and should take approximately 1-2 hours.
We would go as far as to say this is the best intercooler on the market for these models.
This decat will fit all N55 engines from July 2013+. It will not fit the 135i pre July 2013. We do supply one for this model which you will find in our other items.
Machined from T304 high-grade stainless steel and are tig welded in house
The decat is fabricated in the UK and the flanges are laser cut between 10-12mm
Sharper throttle response due to faster spool of the turbo
Noticeable power gains and a much more aggressive exhaust note which sounds truly amazing
Produces lower temperatures and less exhaust backpressure due to the relief of the turbocharger. Also, the cylinder charge is increased
There is also a substantial weight saving in comparison to the factory catalytic converter
Mandrel-bent for better gas flow and maximum internal size to ensure ultimate performance without the loss of mid-range torque.
We have tested this product and found increases of 10-15bhp.
Professional installation is recommended as some exhausts sit slightly different from others and can be tight although the feedback we have received from this product is that it is very easy to fit.
We also recommend purchasing a Lambda Sensor Spacer(s) to prevent the engine light coming on in most cases. If you search our other items you will find these.
The MTC Motorsport N55 charge pipe features:
Made from lightweight 6061 alloy pipe which is mandrel bent for a smooth flowing bend
Very easy connection to the throttle body as it keeps the same CNC connector
The pipe is 3″ diameter which is matched to the size of the throttle body and down to 2.5? to meet the intercooler
Beaded ends and mikalor clamps included so that there is no chance of hoses blowing off
Massively increases throttle response and eliminates a lot of lag
Meth ports welded in for those running their cars on methanol
Hard anodised in black to improve durability.
